Allowed objects

re: "2) A place may be added for existing buildings that are not visible on the satellite view."
Google [says] they generally only get updates every few years, this should be interpreted to allow placement, identification, and discussion of anything newer, as well as hidden features, objects or places.

Disallowed objects

re: "Can I add a place that doesn't exist yet." A: No.
However, it might be appropriate to add a note about the scheduled demolition to the current place, and a link to the relevant planning organizations for more info.

Changes to 'Can I add my own house'

Altered the text

'For multi-housing buildings (Apartment complexes, Coop Societies, etc) where 100 families live in a building, every resident creating their own tag can create quite a mess. There should be a single tag for the building, and if you would like to make note of your residence, make a comment under the main tag for that building.'

to

'For multi-housing buildings (Apartment complexes, Coop Societies, etc) where many families live in a building, every resident creating a tag for their apartment can create quite a mess. With this in mind, one should add their apartment details as a child object within the parent tag (or main building tag).'

I felt this alteration was necessary because the 'parent/child' tool solves the problem of duplicate and cluttering residential tags. RK77 15:38, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Can I add my friend's/brother's/teacher's house?

Emended: No, you should not. If they want their house added, they should do so themselves. And in fact the Wikimapia Terms of Reference, which you implicitly agreed to when you registered, explicitly state that you must have their written consent to do so.

to

Yes, you can! But you cannot (even indirectly) identify the people living there. In fact the Wikimapia Terms of Reference (Terms of Service 1.B.b), which you implicitly agreed to when you registered, explicitly states that you must have their written consent to do so. If you do not have permission, do not include their details.
