Spring Creek was one of the numerous fishing communities along the Florida Coast until the enactment of the "Net Ban" act. This made it illegal to use fishing nets to catch fish. The result is that now more than 95% of all seafood consumer in Florida is imported from Asia. Coastal lands have been taken over by developers.
