Cross marking site of old chapel, Our Lady of Liberation, Nossa Senhora da Livramento, Livrament Vaddo, Sangolda, Bardez, Goa. Locals gather here once a year to celebrate the feast of the Cross. The Old Chapel was built on the site of a former Hindu temple that was demolished when the villagers converted to Christianity. It burnt down about 150 years ago due to a lightening strike, and a new chapel was built a little further north, of stone instead of wood, and on a larger scale.
