San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station

Also known as SONGS. Constructed in the mid 1960s, Unit 1 operated from 1967 to 1992, when it was permanently closed. Units 2 & 3 were brought on line a few years later, and are still operational. This plant supplies about 20% of the electric power used in Southern California, approximately 2.3 Giga-watts.

If the weenie liberals would stop being weenie liberals we could build some more of these and import less oil from the middle east and Hugo Chavez. If France, the weenie liberal capital of the world, can get most of their power from nuclear power plants certainly we should be able to.
