it is all rubbish it is no gambling and drinking club- mr chandranath is not used to club scene in kolkata- it is one of the best club in kolkata- i am a member of this club for the last 30 years.- it has got the best facility at a cheaper rate where eill find such rates and facility. and mr.hiranmoy chatterjee has done a lot for this club- so mr.chandranath dont write all this.

Mr/Mrs Ranjana Sengupta sice the name is quite peculiar. I think thirty years back the club was totally dilapidated and you could see slum dwellers as members. It is only after the present councillor Mr. Debashish Kumar came into power that Mr. Hironmoy Chatterjee joined hands with him (birds of same feathers flocked together since both of them were paupers and now both of them are millionaires ) courtsey GDS(Gambling and Drinking Sansad)and cheated the whole neighbourhood and built the illegal construction.
If you are an ardent member then you should be aware of the building norms. I challenge you to show the legality of the building with relevant documents approved by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
Secondly anytime in the evening I can walk into the club and show you the drinking and gambling session that goes on. Want to challenge me on this issue.You will look like a fool since I have been residing in that area for last forty years and my forefathers been residing for last eighty years and so know much more about youR so called GDS(DKS) than you.
As far as Mr.Hironmoy chatterjee is concerned let me ask you a simple question.Where is the money coming from?If ten years back he was a pauper then without doing anything where did he get the money?Obviously the club must be sustaning his expenses.

How are doing Mr.Sonachor Chatterjee? You still owe me a few lakhs for letting you construct the swimming pool and building illegally during the time I was the chairman -Burough Seven.

This is utter rubbish. I am a member of this club and I dont mind spending the evening there and having a good time. People always have a tendency of finding faults in people who are doing good things. I dont mind somebody minting money and at the same time give me a good service at the end of the day. Everybody out here are not saints. Its just that people are jelous and accept the fact.

If thats the case go to Sonagachi Mr. Bose. Thats a place where you can have a good service at the end of the day.Regarding being saints no one is but the members of DKS tend to put on specially the secretary of DKS.
No one is jealous as they dont need to get a good service from a gambling den like DKS.There are better clubs that DKS.
But as citizens and neighbouring people we have to shut this club at all costs and we shall do so.

Mr Habu,the way you have put up r comments shows the background u come from. Why are u so bothered of Gambling. Its human tendency that grapes are sour. Perhaps you dont have the money to gamble and that it where it hits u below the belt. Even if somebody gambles....how does that affects u ? Are they playing with r money or are they inviting u to join them. Why dont we leave people alone and let other people enjoy. Nobody has asked u to play the role of a social police out there.

Dear People,

1.DKS stands for Dakshin Kalikata Sansad
2.It is a premier institution for middle class people of Kolkata
3.There is no gambling in DKS. There is a card room (like all other clubs)
4.DKS has a bar within premises and no way does it disturb the neighbourhood
5.People who crib and complain about DKS being a bad place are generally those people who have been refused membership to the club or have had their memberships terminated
6.Mr.Hironmoy Chatterjee runs his own successful business and also has associations with important companies in Kolkata as a consultant. Till date he has not touched a single penny of the club funds. I know because I have seen him run around literally begging companies for funds sponsorship to develop the club and hold tournaments
7.All constructions in DKS are legal with the necessary permissions. I would request the critics to kindly challenge the constructions. Only fools will say that 1 Crore plus constructions have been done without authorization.
8.Hironmoy Chatterjee was never a pauper. Please check his family history before making such and allegation.
9.Slum Dwellers as members??? Are you mad.
10.It is one of the last citadels where culture rules over money power. Please dont disturb it. This is a place which is homely, women are respected and cultural and sporting events are held almost every month. People who talk otherwise have no clue what they are talking about. Come in as a guest of a member (if you know one) and see for yourself.
