The USS Fort Fisher was the final member of the Anchorage Class of Dock Landing Ships (LSDs) and served with the US Pacific Fleet based out of San Diego from 1972 to 1998.
Following her 1998 decommissioning, she was placed into reserve here at Suisun Bay, where she was put up for sale under the Security Assistance Program, but with no takers to date, she has been offered for sale for reefing as a dive site.
