Three Rivers Stadium (site)

Former home stadium of the Pittsburgh Pirates (MLB) and Steelers (NFL). Opened on July 16, 1970 and demolished on February 11, 2001. First proposed in 1948, construction was repeatedly delayed until it finally began in August, 1968. All that remains is the Gate D Tower.

I used to go to this stadium all the time. It was amazing. The feeling that it invoked was nothing less than spectacular. The astroturf field and the seats that were high up offered the best experience as a child that I can remember.
