PUP Headquarters

The PUP is often seen as being one of the most radical of the unionist political parties in northern Ireland. It receives a great deal of its support here in east Belfast. Unlike most unionist parties, it professes to be a left-winged party, in common with both nationalist parties. The party was founded in 1979, and is currently lead by Dawn Purvis, who took over from David Irvine after his sudden death in early January 2007.
