Plano West Senior High School (commonly West or PWSH) is a secondary school serving high school juniors and seniors located in Plano, Texas. The school is part of the Plano Independent School District. The school mascot is the wolf. This mascot was selected by future students of the school prior to its opening. This selection represents a departure from the Plano ISD theme of feline related mascots. Before the founding of Plano West, there was a push by students to have the school mascot be the bulldog, but this was vetoed by the administration. The story goes that after the mascot of a Bulldog was voted on by the future students, parents and faculty rejected it due to concerns of "female dog" chants by other schools. Thus, the 2nd place choice, the wolf, was used instead.
