The LOIS PERKINS CHAPEL seats 850 people. It was built in a modern semi-Gothic style and is known for its impressive stained-glass windows depicting the leaders of the Reformation in Europe and American Methodism.
The chapel was erected in 1950 by a gift from the late Mr. J.J. Perkins of Wichita Falls and is named in honor of Mrs. Perkins, an alumna of the University. The chapel was completely renovated in 1981 through a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Charles N. Prothro of Wichita Falls, Texas, to honor her mother, Mrs. Perkins. Mr. Prothro served on the Board of Trustees for 30 years and was chairman for 11 of those years.

Voluntary chapel services are held each Thursday at 11 a.m. during the fall/spring semester. A highlight of the year is the annual Candlelight Service in December. The event is free and open to the community.
