Sandy "Blue Flag" sand and pebble beach with protected sand dunes. Public car park and toilets at eastern end near Cooley Point. Informal car park at western end beside Shelling Hill. Summer swimming with Lifeguard provision. Abundant birdlife on and offshore includes sand martins, pied wagtails, dunnocks, goldfinches, chaffinches, oystercatchers, dunlin, curlews and cormorants
