American Pacific Whaling Company Station (site)

The Pacific Whaling Company (later the American Pacific Whaling Company) opened the only whaling station in the Aleutians here in 1912. It operated until 1939. The station was then leased to the US Navy between 1942 until 1945 as a midway fueling, provisioning, and repair station.
