Parijat building has a historical importance.The world Famous Criketeer Sanjay Gupte was taught to hold a bat by Sir Gary Sobers on the terrace of Parijat.Sunil Gavaskar trained him in the present Daulat Nagar when it was an open ground 35 years ago.Bishen Singh Bedi taught him the art of spin bowling and Eknath Solkar taught him fielding.The successful result is there for the world to see. | ||||

A few more things about Sanjay Gupte. He comes from a great cricketing family from erstwhile princely state of Baroda. His father is a humourist, a chess champion and also a great cricketer himself. His favourite aunt Sudha is a Bridge champion. Sanjay never made it to Test Cricket because of politics. India's loss was gain to Parijat Coop Hsg Soc.
