Lifeboat station based at Trevose head west of Padstow, north Cornwall. The design of the the hull shape is designed to cut straight into the waves, rather than allow it to broach sideways into the sharp Merope Rocks that lie hungrily alongside the slipway. Padstow RNLI lifeboat station is the winner of the civil engineering category of the British Construction Industry awards.
