Monument to Virgin Mary apparition

"La Virgen de Morrocoy" is a rock on the cliff above this opening, which resembles the Virgin Mary, hence making this a place of religious local pilgrimage. This cove is appraochable only by boat and is a place where visitors, fishermen and locals leave small religious statues mementos of lost family or friends and written prayers. These artifacts are left on the rocky cliff walls, on the trees and there is thousands of them that have accumulated here.
