St. Herman Church in Port Townsend, Washington, is the home of a beautiful onion-dome wooden parish church built by carpenter priest and his parish, consecrated September 8, 2007 by the Orthodox Church in America. It is even more beautiful inside with hand-carved iconostasis, walls covered every foot with diverse traditional Christian icons, and what has been called "the best little bookstore per square foot in the Pacific Northwest". As the most northwestern parish in the lower 48 states, the church is dedicated to St. Herman, the Wonderworker of Alaska, who was America's first saint of the Orthodox Church founded by the Holy Apostles of Jesus Christ at Pentecost in 33 A.D. Regular services are Saturday evening Vespers at 7:00 pm and Sunday morning Divine Liturgy at 9:30 am, plus celebration of all major feasts and selected weekly services from liturgical calendar.
