The Annanur - Nungambakkam overhead train link under proposal. The train will run overhead from Nungambakkam to Tiruverkadu along the banks of river koovam. The project is expected to end by nov 2008, as there are no major aquisition problems. This connectes North madras with south via train link. Apart from Tiruvallur - villivakkam section - the following areas on route are benefitted - Koyambedu, Maduravoyal, Annanagar East, Ayappakam, Ayanambakkam, NSK nagar. Major educational institutions like MGR engineering college, Anna Adharsh college, Valliammal college, Kandasamy naidu college, Sindi college, Saveetha Dental college, and many polytechnics and school students and office goers enroute will be benefitted.
