Mundyalis FarmsThese are the tract duly supported by the irrigation facility. Prime crop is paddy which is sown during the month of May/June. I spent my childhood along with my uncle Surat Singh my brother Vikram, Rajender. While I was studying at Delhi but at every summer break it was sure to visit the hometown. It is an interesting tradition in village Banshi of Distt. Rudraprayag,Uttranchal, India that agricultural land is stretched to different locations which is at considerable distance from main village. Temporarily livable houses are constructed alongside the fields and enjoys a life of gypsy for a short tenure. But the trend has now changed and people has started living permanently at one place keeping in view of their convenience. It was a great experience for me during my childhood to migrate from one farmhouse to other with changing of season. During summer you were supposed to live in houses alongside the river after sowing the paddy and with the onset of monsoon we used to move at higher places i.e. high altitude. The climate at high altitude during the rainy season is pleasant as compared to river side which is hot and humid.
A hamlet named Modla is such a place which is turning as a revenue village as the people has started living permanently there. My uncle Mr. Harender Singh, Sh. Vijay Singh has settled there permanently keeping in view the ease of easy access to road and Dist. HQ Really it was great experience for me during my childhood. I am totally bored of urban life and shall be back to there as and when responsibilities on my shoulder are diluted. Bharat Singh Rawat Govt. of Delhi 01202743831 (India) Category: production
