David Pells House (New York City, New York)
World / USA / New York / Pelham Manor World / United States / New York
David Pell, who once owned all of what is now Pelham and Pelham Bay park, built his first house here on the highest point of Twin Island. The house is no longer here, and Pell moved across the bay to the mansion to the west of this marker, which now is the Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum. Some indication of the home here still exists, such as the trees he planted around the house, and the gardens kept by his servants are still visible.
