The field was created in 1946 by an aviation legend (Wally Olson). He continued to run the airport and teach student pilots until his death at 88 years old. When I started flying, this was a great field to fly into. As Vancouver developed, more an more buildings appeared around the field which limited a pilot's choice for landing in an engine failure occurred. |
