There are a lot of snakes on the island and this is the main reason some people to call it – The Snake Island. It occupies territory from 0,012-0,015 km² (0,005-0,006 mi²). The reserve “Snake Island” is one of the few places in Bulgaria, where wild cacti grow. The island is part of the Ropotamo Nature Reserve and lies 0.4 km (0.2 nmi) southeast of Humata Cape in Arkutino Bay.
