This is an historical place embedded by three mountains.
maratha emperor shivaji maharaj punished ranje's patil for the crime of troubling a woman.
there is also an ancient temple of lord bhairavnath.
still today, the local court is held in this temple.
That is why this village was won the prize of rs. 200000/- under tanta-mukta gaon campaign.
in 2005, it also won the prize of adarsha krishi gram for advanced farming techniques and organic farming of rs. 25000/-
