Guru Teg Bahadur Sacrificed his life to save Hindus from Jahangir-The ruler of that time---Because of his supreme sacrifice Hindu religion is existing in the world.

Gurdwara Shish Ganj, located at Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, was built on the place where Mughal Emperor Aurungzeb beheaded the ninth Sikh Guru, Shri Tegh Bahadur in 1675. 'Shish' literally means 'the head'. The Guru was killed along with three of his disciples, for protesting against forced conversion of Kashmiri Hindus by Aurungzeb. It is said that his followers secretly took the Guru's head to Anandpur Sahib and his body was taken for cremation to a house which is today known as Gurdwara Rakab Ganj. Shish Ganj is a prominent pilgrim center of the Sikh Community and it is equally revered by the Hindus.

  • i dont think that the gurudwara is a problem to traffic. chandni chawk has a lot of traffic anyway, even without the gurudwara. moreover it is a religious place with historical roots. to be really truthful, the food (langar) served there is really bad though. it is not fit for humans. but otherwise it is a nice place to visit.
  • gurudwara is not the proble of traffic because the chandni chock is a conjested area so nobody can say that gurudwara is the problem
  • What s d use to do dat. logo ke pas dimag ki kami hai kuch nahi ho sakta india ka procession is held hindu community also.....
  • Dont ever try posting comments about langar or anything if u dont know it. The langar that you are saying is very bad is made of much better quality material ,today thousands of people are dependent on that langar and after eating langar people dont even look at junk food they need only langar langar langar .its just kirpa of babaji .so think before u comment
