Chinesischer Turm - Chinese tower. One of the landmarks in the Englischer Garten.
The five-story wooden tower in Chinese style was constructed 1789-90.
During the air bombardments of World War 2, it burned to the ground. Rebuilt 1950-51 true to the original construction.
At the foot of the Chinesischer Turm is Munich's second-largest Biergarten (beer garden) with ~7,000 seats.
In winter, a Christmas fair is located here.
