If you can avoid the previously mention "Raves", it is a fantastic park for relaxation. Always a nice breeze and great views.

It should be mentioned that this is the site from which one of Seattle's two major 4th of July fireworks displays is launched. It's a madhouse here on the evening of the 4th, but well worth it. You can also find excellent viewing sites in nearby streets and parks. Years ago you used to be able to stand along the sidewalk of the nearby Aurora Bridge for excellent fireworks viewing. Sadly, someone in the nanny-state government decided that that was too dangerous! Ooh, glad they're lookin' out for us all the time! lol

When I was like 4 my mom and I would come here and I'd climb all over the cool painted pipes n' stuff under the roof there, it was endless fun. I still like to climb around on them whenever I come to visit my old neighborhood.
