This is the place where Dalit Christians led their struggles in the aftermath of the violence unleashed agaisnt them by the Syrian Christians in the period of the so called 'liberation stuggle' against the communist ministry of 1957. The history of the settlement of Kottukappara and the neighbouring dalit Christian settlemets up to Parakkappara are yet to be written. They would turn out to be substantial witness to the struggles and survivals of a community both in the realms of religion adn society. It stands witness to another history of the missions.
