Vulcan Park

Home of the world's largest cast iron statue of Vulcan, Roman god of the forge. Vulcan sits atop Red Mountain and overlooks Birmingham. Birmingham grew primarily through steel and iron with huge furnaces and factories dotting the landscape. Vulcan was a symbol for the city at the World's Fair in 1906 and was brought back to his current location.
