Vinayaka Mission's Medical College & Hospital, Karaikal

The Vinayaka Mission’s Medical College was born out of a dream and vision to provide Medical Education with unparalleled quality to the young and enthusiastic aspirants. Located just 5 kilometer away from Karaikal, with its beautifully landscaped and carefully tended in the seashore of the Bay of Bengal, provides an ideal environment for a congenital learning experiences.
This institution is sponsored by the Vinayaka Mission’s Medical Education and Charitable Trust under the leadership of the Founder.Dr.A.Shanmugasundaram to serve the economically and socially backward rural people, who form the major component of the glorious mother land.
From this academic year 2006 – 2007, Post Graduate Courses and Diploma Courses are offered with the aim of developing skills in the field of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Surgery, O & G, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT and Dermatology, under Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Deemed University.
The Medical Students and Doctors in training need to hone their clinical skills on patients to make themselves better Doctors in the present society and need to develop a new cadre of healthcare professionals. For that, we have proposed a joint action research project with National Organisations such as NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) for experimenting the innovations by using electronic mode to ensure the better student participation.
The object is to promote critical thinking capacity in ethical and moral issues as a prelude to the development of practical skills in dealing with clinical problems by strengthened infrastructure facilities with well qualified and experienced professionals to our Vinayaka Mission’s roof.
All this means health care in the peripheral areas are covered and to be improved in latest advancement in the medical field. To achieve these goals,
