Superspecilaity hospital providing Orthopaedic, Neurology and Neuro surgical Care. Dr G M Taori, known for introducing neurology as a branch of medicine to Central India in 1984, is credited with many firsts. I decided to start my own hospital. I began efforts in 1973 and could actually start CIIMS in 1984. Due to red-tapism, I could get sanction for the hospital only in 1982, that too after writing to none other than the then PM Indira Gandhi. I started Gopalkrishna Taori Charitable Trust in my brother's name and people gave donations, from a few rupees to a few thousands. We also organized religious programmes to generate funds. We began making OPD rooms from such donations and 31 years since, we have all state-of-the-art technology in the 36,000 sq ft land and research lab in our hospital. All earnings of the hospital, about Rs8-9 crore, have gone back into development of the hospital.
