Aruvankadu, is a small town located in The Nilgiris District, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located between Coonoor and Ooty on the NH 67, at distances 5 km and 12 km respectively.

It is a mid-sized town , with a factory named CORDITE FACTORY ARUVANKADU - A MINISTRY OF DEFENCE ESTABLISHMENT(ESTD. 1903). A town with 5 school,3 clubs,1 hospital and a whole bunch of nice people.

  • Hi all I am Sathyanarayanan. S, Our family is native of aruvankadu, My great grandfather, Grandfathers, father, mother, uncles all worked in Cordite factory. We stayed in the factory line near CFWRC Club. Being born and Brought up in the picturesque valley of aruvankadu, I and all my siblings Studied in Mathar Sangam LKG, UKG and later on in CFHSS from 1st to 12th std. Cannot forget Mr.Ramaswamy Teacher, Ms. Glory Teacher, Ms.Paripooranam Teacher, Mr. Goerge William, of elementary school and ofcourse Mr. Dharman - My maths teacher and mentor, Mr. Rangabhashyam - My Physice Teacher in 12th, who made me who I am now, Mr. KALIMUTHU an abled and efficient Headmaster of the CFHSS, who has transformed the school to achive grtarer heights, Mr.Thangaraju, etc. During my school days we used to stroll around in the factory area, maingate, GMs bangalow etc. The summer days were very enjoyable. My friends Sundaram, Dominic, Ashok, Yeshodha etc used to play in the evenings. My +1 and +2 were fun filled and was enjoyable and memorable years of my life, since there is where I met Ms.T S Sumathy. AND WE CARRIED ON TOGHETHER FOR QUITE SOME TIME, TILL COMPLETION OF SCHOOL AND LATER ON I CAME TO CBE for my higher studies, my other school mates are Srinivas, Chitrakala, Ofcourse T.S Sumathy, Devi, Kalyani, Mini etc. Presently I am in Mumbai in HPCL as Manager.
