Once part of Mooreland Farms before the area was developed for a subdivision in the 50's and 60's. this island is now mostly forested area and James River floodplain. It is not more than a few feet above river level at any point, and houses deer and other wild animals. Probably should be protected from development as it is one of the last areas of the wild James River, not that it would ever be viable to build here anyway
