Main Street Plaza

Formerly a too-narrow through street where *supposedly* Christian protestors against the LDS church stood on the sidewalks shouting profanity and insults through megaphones, and harassing LDS wedding parties and temple attendees even to the point of spitting on them, this land was purchased from the city at great cost by the church and turned into a lovely public green space with a large reflecting pool, lawns, lush greenery, and picnic tables; effectively joining the church's "temple block" with it's "office block".

I especially like sitting at the reflecting pool. They also have some nice places you can take pictures while you're visiting. It's a very peacefull place.

Family members and I visited the Main Street Plaza and grounds of the LDS Church offices recently. This entire area is so beautifully kept up, clean, quiet, and family friendly it was like stepping out of the everyday world into an oasis of peace and calm. It's definitely a huge asset to the community.

During the Christmas season, the trees are lit up with thousands of lights. they also float lights in the reflecting pool and have large nativity scenes in the green areas around the reflecting pool.
