Thuravoor TirumalaBhagom Sree Mahadeva temple

This temple is situated approx 1.5 Km west from Thuravoor ,situated near the Tirumala Sree Lakshami Narasimha temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Siva as (Ekaswaroopan),a rare Murthy around the locality.This temple was build with the help of Tirumala Devasom and handed over to the local Kudumbi community.Since then the temple is run by the Kudumbi/Kunbi community with much devotion,festivity and pride.This temple has daily pooja being offered (found rarely among the community).The main festivals of this temple are Sivarathri,Mandala Chirappu and Nagapanchami. The temple is alive for nearly 2 months(Nov-Dec) during the Mandala Chirappu festival whereby many Ayyapa devotees commence their pilgrimage from this temple.U can also see the daily Deepa Aradhana (Mega Lamp lightning) during this period.On the Last day of the festival,Ganapathy Homam and Annadanam (Feast for all) is conducted .Lots of devotees participate on this day.The Sivarathri is celebrated with much religious ferver and Gaiety. One can still see the traditional "Hampu" lamp (a lamp set having 5/7/9 plates) and the "Kollpongi" (a single lamp )


* Annadanam feeds the Tsunami refugees

On Dec-26-2004 afternoon refugees from the nearby coastal village started coming in the Tsunami relief camp started at TD High School .On the same day when when the Annadanam was going on suddenly refugees started coming in the temple for the food.On seeing the rush of refugees, the temple authorities arranged the food served in the Annadanam, for around 200 people and send it to the camp nearby.Later on, one of the State minister who had come to supervise the relief operations, came to the temple and appreciated the temple authorities for their prompt service and help.

The popular vazivadu or offering in the temple are Jaladhara,Pushpanjali,Rudrabishekam.Lighting the oil lamp around the temple is considered as the most auspicious offering.
