Yes, this is a very well managed eye hospital. A miracle happened here. I was a site engineer working for a construction company at HPL (Haldia Petrochemicals Limited). One day while cutting steel reinforcement bars end piece flew and struck into the right eye of the worker, near the nose, who was holding chisel. With piece struck in eye the worker was taken to Govt. hospital Haldia, the doctors told that the steel piece as well as both the eyes have to be gouged out as there was a chance of infection getting into the brain that will be fatal. We thought of taking him to Sankar Netralaya, Chennai. Somebody suggested me of this Netralaya. I informed my construction manager who agreed to my suggestion and we took a chance. If things would have gone bad at Shankar Netralaya nobody would have accused us, everybody would have said that we did our best. This place is next to Haldia, people would have accused us of conspiracy to save money. Anyway, it so happened that neither of the two eyes were taken out. After one month the eyesight of the person got restored and after three months he rejoined job, though as an office help this time. This case was like a miracle. Thanks to this wonderful place. |
