Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) (Prairie View, Texas)

Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU or simply "PV") is an historically black university located approximately 45 miles northwest of Houston, Texas in the city of Prairie View, and is a member of the Texas A&M University System. Founded in 1876, PVAMU is the second oldest state-sponsored institution of higher education in Texas.

The university offers a broad range of academic programs through the following administrative units:

●The College of Agriculture and Human Sciences

●The School of Architecture

●The College of Arts and Sciences

●The College of Business

●The College of Education

●The College of Engineering

●The College of Juvenile Justice and Psychology

●The College of Nursing (located at the Texas Medical Center in Houston)

With an established reputation for producing engineers, nurses and educators, PVAMU offers baccalaureate degrees in 50 academic majors, 37 master’s degrees and four doctoral degree programs through nine colleges and schools.
