| Oz Park: Chicago Park District In 1976 Oz Park was dedicated to Wizard of Oz writer Lyman Frank Baum who came to Chicago in 1891. Oz Park features baseball/softball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball courts, a circular walking trail and a kiddie playground. During weekdays mothers stroll with kids, while students from nearby Lincoln Park High School hang out for lunch or practice for sports, and returning office workers stroll with dogs or participate in sports clubs once the students have gone home for the day. The weekend days bring joggers, sports clubs, and farmer's markets, while weekend nights bring out the drunks and 'walks of shame' from those patronizing the nearby Lincoln Ave bars.
