Historical Hamirsar Lake of Bhuj (હમીરસર તળાવ)

Hamirsar lake is real beauty. Its the best place to spend evening. One has visited nothing if he has not visited this place

It appears that Hamirsar Lake is a Dam Project undertaken by deepening and widening an existing small waterbody named Hamirai Talavadi during the early days of establishment of the present ruling dynasty of Kutch, JADEJA Dynasty. Naturally most common motive for creating such a huge lake with a periphery of about 2.5 KM and storing capacity of about 64 million cusecs must have been created to store fresh rain water for various uses including Drinking considering the twin facts that there are several Dug-wells around the lake which used to provide best sweet water to the populace till recently and the fact that Kutch is most Drought prone area and in canstant need of stored fresh water. It is shallower and rocky in South but the depth increases as one moves towards North of the main Lake and is deepest at most Northen end called PAVDI, which is also most favoured and only Washing and Swimming Ghat solely for males. Hamishar lake is best in word, it is history is very old and i like thair swiming..

This the place where fun fairs are held,we can find our friends siting near it and enjoying lara.when this is getting full of water people are gother aroun it to show and we can see the seen like fair

Hamirsar lake is really in the heart of all Kutch people and giving beautiful look to the entire city of bhuj particularly in the monsoon.We can not imagine the Bhuj without the Hamirsar lake for preserving the beatuy of it we all have to take oath that we will keep the lake free from pollution and try to keep as clean as possible.
