The Tamale teaching Hospital is a referal hospital in the three northern regions of ghana and even beyond. This hospital had not seen renovation since it was constructed by the National Redemption council regeem headed by his excellency I.K.Acheampong.
The hospital is now seen as a death trap since it is at the verge of collapsing. In view of this, both the fourth and the third flow have been evacuated due to its deplorable state.Governments upon governments come and go without paying a heed to the plight of the hospital. The facilities as well as the equipments in the hospital are nothing to pass the test of modinity. And to make mokery of the hospital, the immediate past regeem NPP government, headed by his excellency John Ageakum Kufuor made it a teaching hospital for the premium university for Development studies medical school.
Being touched by the plight of the Hospital, and to show a high sence of patriotism, the concern citizens of Tamale a pressure group headed by his nobleship Alhassan Daballi took to the street of Tamale to demonstrate thier protest and the lackadessical attitude of government over the hospital renovation and abgradement.Behold, this effort was twarted by the blattant lies made by the son of Dagbon who was the northern regional minister then, and a former work and housing minister that government was so much concern about the hospital, and that it was sourcing funds from the EU and plans were therefore far advance to see to the maiden refurbishment of the hospital which never came to fluition.
It was therefore a heart warming, when the current sitting president his excellency Professor J.E.A Mills of the National Democratic Party(NDC) noted in his maiden state of the nation address that the hospital will see renovation. We there pray incercently, that the promise come to pass so as to lay a foundation of so many good things to be done to the people of the north in brieging the socio economic gap between the north and the south, and also to save so many lives in Dagbon and the region at large.
May God bless Ghana and Dagbon. |
