Kamadhenu Co-op Hsg Society

Canara Bank's Cooperative Housing Society ; Built in 1976 and owned by Canara Bank employees. 21 flats are divided into two wings with two flats on each floor. Most owners have taken retirement from the bank. Some have left happy memories behind for their families and passed on to the 'other world' while some are actively involved in social work or familial duties. Being a part of the Great Indian Middle Class, the second generation is a highly educated lot. The second generation now takes over household responsibilities, thereby relieving their parents at Home.

The society, like many others has numerous discussions, debates over matters which may require minimal attention, however, the spirit is generally seen quite high in times of crisis. Traditional habits like distributing sweets during occasions like milestones in education, weddings, child-birth and other celebratory moments is a must. Mind you, most of these sweets are generally purchased in the form of malai pedas from Anand Dairy Farm.

The members of this society start with Mr Asrani, Mr Sartape, Mrs Kamat, Mr BV Kamath, Mr Shanbhogue, Mr Naik (generally rented out), Mr Prabhu, Mr Shenoy, Mrs Wadhwa, Mr Parkar (recently rented out), Mr Humraskar, Mrs Joshi, Mrs Bidikar, Mr Panchwagh, Mr Desai, Mr Raghavan, Mr Mody, Mr Trivedi, Mr Kamath, Mr Shah and Mr Hindocha.

One major society gathering is usually the annual Lord Ganapati celebrations at Mrs Kamaths house where Ketan and his family decorate the Lord and his temporary Home in all festive colors.

I know for sure that the second generation cherished their childhood and childhood games and hope the third generation (now either started or will start) have the same joy and happiness.
