  • I was stationed there 1986-1988, assigned to the 511th MI Bn. Other units there was a medical company, and a LRRP company. Heard it was used for East Germans after the wall came down. Went back in 2002 and all the buildings had been completely cleared, even the cobblestones were gone, no sign that it was ever there.
  • I also was staioned there from 1986-1988, was in the 651st Medical Company. Great time, small kaserne, but big enough to not be bored. Plus it was close to town and trains.
  • I was there from 1989 to 1991. The 207th returned from Desert Storm in June of 1991 time frame and then dissolved shortly after with the rest of the 7th Corp. I have a cobblestone on my desk at work that I pulled from a loose place on the street so I guess I'm one of the few that have a piece of Coffey Barracks.
  • I was stationed there from 1989-1991 307th MI great place lots of great memories
  • I was stationed in the 651st Amb Unit in 1980. I transfered to the 128 CHS after I was in a ambulance accident on the Autobahn during Hohenfels Field exercises in June 1980. That transfer moved me from one building to another!! I had a great time living at Coffey, had great friends and dated lots of fabulous guys! I even married one of them! We traveled to Copenhagen to get married. I left there in 1982. I am so sad to see the post gone, I had always thought it would be there forever.
  • My name is George. I was a medic with the 651st.Medical company. I was stationed there from 1971 to early 1975. I lived at the Coffey barracks. There was a riot there during my tour. I hope someone can help me with some of the details. I need to know the name of the pharmacist who worked at Robinsion Barrack dispensary who died from an over dose of morphine during that time frame. I was the ambulance driver at that time and a man by the name of Booker was the aid man. Can anyone help me with this information. Thank you and God Bless America
  • Hey linda st that was there in 1980. I know I hung out with you. My name is Artie and I was in the engineers. T73MJF@yahoo.com

  • I was with A Co., 511th MI Bn. from 1988 until 1991. We went to Desert Storm together. Loads of fun. I kept in touch with lots of guys from the 511th. I spoke with a guy from HHS 511th just yesterday.
  • I was there in 1973 for 7 months. Was a medic in the 582nd ambulance company when it was disbanded. I too moved to a building next door, to the 651st. So strange to see an empty field where Coffey once stood.
  • It was a refugee camp in 2000
  • I was stationed there in 1965 and 1966 with the 485th Preventive Medicine Unit (PVNTMED). Then, Coffey Barracks was also home to the 107th Transportation Brigade (POL). It was in late 1965, I believe, when 7th Med moved to the Barracks. The 485th PVNTMED is now a detachment garrisoned at Fort Polk, Louisana. I have some old pictures of Coffey Barracks from '65 and '66 if anyone is interested.
  • Three pictures from 1966 inserted: the main gate, from inside the post; the building that housed the 485th PVNTMED unit from across the parade field (7th MED HQ was housed in the building on the right at the time); the 485th's motor pool (3/4 tons and deuces not visible).
  • B co 307th MI the best home i ever had...
  • If this is the same MThomas I served with in the 1988 to 1990's in A Co 511th MI BN with CPorter, hail me back I'd like to talk and see how you are doing.
  • I was stationed at 651st from Jan'73-Jul'75. I think it was the craziest experience I ever had. Anyone remember the "Armpit Theatre" and bowling alley in the back by the motor pool? How about the Pyramid club and "Shorty" at the snack bar?! I remember a German guy who worked in the boiler room named "Mike". I would go in there to get warm during guard duty while the Bader-Meinhoff thing was going on. lol Cheers
  • I was there from Dec'86-May'89 with F Co 51st Inf (LRSU). Its kinda sad the place is gone. I know the Rock Fabrik is still down the street though. I heard the Aleenhof is gone too. It was a gasthaus run by a kind Yugoslav couple.
  • I was assigned to F Co 51st Inf (LRSU) from Jan 90 - Spet 91. Is this the correct location? Have the barracks been torn down? Many fond memories of the Rock Fabrik. I was on tm 3-2. My team leader was SSG Huber.

  • I was stationed there from March 1951 till August l952. It was called Frohmann Kaserne and renamed Coffey Barracks while I was there. I believe Coffey was a General and his daughter attended the ceremony in relation to the name change. I was in Hdq & Hdq company, 47th Ord. Group. Colonel Levitt was our commanding officer. He used company recreational funds to have a bowling alley constructed. Pleasant memories of serving in Germany and Coffey Barracks.
  • Coffey was also the home of 30th Medical Group HQ. I was stationed at Coffey from 82-84. Remember going to Graf? I was the crazy medic who made weird snow people on the parade field and drove the COL around. I worked for CSM Bartberger.
  • I was in the 582 medical Co. from 1971 until 1973. I was company clerk for a short while, then drove an ambulance for a while. Then I was promoted and was an ambulance orderly. I remember the bowling alley, just two lanes but it was fun. I would love to hear from others who were there during that time. I remember making Purple Passion in a wash tub on the lawn during the summer and cooking outside. my email is mman405@att.net.
  • It was also the home of 128th CSH. I served there in 86 and in 511th MI HHC as CSM driver in 87. I have fond memories there. SeanC i think i know you. I think we have partied. I have reconnected with folks from Coffey on FB and we have a group for all who were there. Some of the "old guys" from F Troop have washed up on FB as well. Come look us up there. We have some photos we are sharing as well. Good memories for sure. My name at the time there Was Amy Herr. bfframy@aol.com will reach me as well.
  • I was stationed at Coffey, 86-88, with Fco 51st, 3rd PLT. Loved the great times and always a softball game or a party to attend. Always looking for old mates, or if you remember me (Austin), Drop me a line at: ctaustinx4@aol.com Steve Sterle give me a shout brother! I still have the photo of the day you left!
  • This is Vincent Disciullo, I was stationed at Coffey with F Company 51st from 86 to 88. I was the guy who told it like it was when I thought we were getting screwed. If you were there then you know who I am. I was supposed to go the 82nd and i let a fast talking Sgt talk me into going there after jump school. I can honestly say that he screwed up my life because i may have stayed in the Army but after F Co. I didn't want any part of the military. As a natter of fact i was barred from reinlistment when i left there because i fought tooth and nail to get out of that company and the only way i could was let them kick me out of the Army. I hope Parks got snuffed in Iraq I don't know what happened after i left. I got married and went to college with a full scholarship. never got a dime of the GI bill money after I paid 1200$ into it!!! Didn't need it anyways just wasted 2 1/2 years for nothing!
  • I did marry the German girl that i was dating and living with when i was there so i guess it wasn't a total waste!
  • I was stationed here from May 1983 till July 1984 with the 32nd Combat Support Hospital which relocated to Wiesbasen Air Base. I was a Biomedical equipment repairer.
