NEWBORN Monument (Pristina)

NEWBORN is a monument marking the Kosova Declaration of Independence Day, 17 February 2008.

Made of steel, weighing about 9 tonnes, NEWBORN is 3m high, 22m long and 1m thick.

First to put their signatures into NEWBORN in black permanent markers were Kosovar President, Fatmir Sejdiu, and Prime-Minister, Hashim Thaçi, at 18:30 (GMT+1), 17 Feb 2008, followed by hundreds of thousands of other people celebrating on the day.

NEWBORN has become a historical symbol and is now under the protection of the Government of Kosova.

It took 10 days for the creators, Ogilvy Kosova, to give birth to NEWBORN, from idea to final product.
