Diego Garcia Military Base

A large Naval & Air Force base owned and operated by the United Kingdom, Diego Garcia's primary tenants are the United States Air Force & US Navy.

The US Navy operates Naval Support Facility (NSF) Diego Garcia; a large naval ship and submarine support base with an anchorage for Military Sealift Command pre-positioned with military supplies.

The United States operates on an expeditionary basis out of Diego Garcia Airfield, but joins the US Navy in operating several communications and space-tracking facilities on the island.

  • David Yeah Richard, you were there during the hard times tents and quonset huts, you guys (SeaBees) did some really good work there. I was there in 85-86 (Airdale,haha). Was a "Hilton" compared to what you guys had. Thanks for all your hard work!!!!!
