Laurel Hill Tunnel (abandoned)

No! Not Cheney's, Ganassi's! The tunnel was bought a few years back by the Chip Ganassi motorsports operation, and is used as a type of testing facility/wind tunnel to test racecar aerodynamics etc. there is an interesting article on the facility in Racecar Engineering Magazine that was also published on the website speedtv.com

Sorry, access restricted. I found the place on a topo map in 1983 and rode out (from Somerset) on my bike. Pretty creepy - a giant black hole in the side of the mountain. Kids would go out to party, ride 3-wheelers through it, etc. Later PennDot used it for road salt storage and sealed off both exits. I came back years later and some old man who lived on Kuhntown Road told me I was tresspassing so I left.

I want to rent this place for a night and have a party here.
