Old Town Theater

This place is closed. Trying to reopen as a comedy club.

Avoid this place. Seriously. I went once soon after it reopened (again for ADA and building code violations) because I like supporting local businesses. Before the movie, we were treated to a tirade from the owner in which he "suggested" that we consider voting for a particular candidate for city council because, according to him, the current council didn't respect the little guy and was out to get him. It's his place, so he can say whatever he wants, but I don't go to movies for unintelligent political speeches by the owner.

A side note: the place should probably be shut down again. The stairs and platforms holding the seats are plywood and feel weak. When I went, I had the pleasure of finding a nail sticking out of the bottom of my shoe. Thankfully it didn't actually stab me; I doubt a lawsuit would have been able to squeeze much out of the guy.

Oh, and if you're still interested, the screen is tiny, there are fairly bright lights left on throughout the movie, and the audio is poor. On the upside, you can get a beer, but you'd be much better off at the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse.
