The Tower, completed in 1931, is 125 feet tall and the base measures 24 square feet.
The Tower was constructed atop Bowman's Hill to commemorate a lookout point for General Washington's troops to watch the banks of the Delaware River for any enemy activity. The Tower is also located adjacent to the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve and the surrounding area is the natural habitat for many native plants, trees, animals, and birds.
