American Players Theatre is a professional,
Equity, classical theatre located in Spring Green,
Wisconsin, 40 miles west of Madison.

The 1148 comfortably cushioned seats sit in a
natural amphitheater on 110 acres of woods and
meadow just off the Wisconsin River.

Shakespeare is APT’s heart and soul, with
accompanying works ranging from the Greeks
to British comedies. The acting company of 28
members and a staff that reaches 120 at the
height of the season, produce five plays
performed in rotating repertory.

Founded in 1979, the Theatre has grown in
popularity and now is the most popular outdoor
classical theater in the country.
