Bellegarde Boathouse

Owned by the state of Massachusetts, this boathouse provides a home for boating programs on the Merrimack River in Lowell. Among the successful programs are the Lowell High School crew program (which attracted 90 students in 2006), and UMASS Lowell crew program. This boathouse is scheduled for renovations with $1 million to the Bellegarde Boathouse. That money can be used for repairs, renovations or new construction -- whatever the proper authorities deem is necessary to keep the boathouse a thriving part of the city

The comment should be inclusive of all the users of the boathouse. The three main rowing programs are the UMASS Lowell Crew Program, Merrimac River Rowing Association and Lowell High School Crew Program. These are listed in longevity order of the programs. Additionally it formally housed the Community Sailing Program [Lowell Regatta Sailing] and currently houses the River as a Classroom Program conducted by the Tsongas Industrial Center River as a Classroom run by the Tsongas Industrial Center
