Palo Alto, California

USA / California / Palo Alto /
 city, draw only border

Palo Alto is a city in Santa Clara County, California, United States. The population was 64,403 at the 2010 census. It is an affluent community near the heart of Silicon Valley.

Much of the tract housing - much of Eichler style - was built in the 1930's. Its neighborhoods' tree-lined streets have trees old enough to merge into an arch over the streets and shade the homes to a point that they are greener on these satellite images. This same distinct green shade is also apparent in Menlo Park and Atherton. The medium home price is approaching $1 million. It is up to 30% Jewish. To the north is East Palo Alto which is sharply demarcated by Hwy 101. That boundary is accentuated by high sound walls on both sides of the highway. The central road through downtown, University, leads into Palm Drive, the picturesque centerpiece road into Stanford.
