  • The story of our temple's origin throws light to the fact that the main idol was established by a Brahmin from North Kerala. He was on a pilgrimage and found this area as the ideal place to worship his Goddess - the root image of the idol is believed to be Kodungalloor Devi. The veteran Brahmin married a lady from this family and lived his life here. (Source : Most Senior Family Members) Still, nobody is sure about how the Family Name - "Kannannoor" - originated. It is found that there is an area in Palakkad with this name. Not sure whether our ancestral roots belong to this place. Any thoughts????
