Wynnewood Mall
The centerpiece of Angus Wynne's ambitious and innovative 1950's "Wynnewood" model neighborhood, the Mall is a large open air shopping facility. As originally envisioned and constructed the mall held department and specialty stores, a movie theater, a professional building, and a real estate office for the surrounding model neighborhood. Economic downturns in the late 80's and early 90's led to a steady erosion of occupancy in the mall, Titches, the Wynnewood Theater, Wyatt's Cafeteria and Montgomery Wards being the most high-tone victims. Recent times have led to a major upturn in both occupancy and new building, and hopefully portend a brighter future for the historical site. Was for many decades the home of Oak Cliff's legendary Jan's Bakery.
